Schools

Our branch runs a schools programme incorporating a free assembly produced by RSPCA as part of the PSHE Compassionate Class: Animal Welfare, Compassion, and Empathy (within the Community and Responsibility topic).  The assembly explores what makes animals happy and healthy, and what makes children happy and healthy.

It is delivered by a member of the RSPCA Ashford and District Branch, and the presenter will also introduce the children to the Ashford Garden Cattery, and the services provided by the branch as examples of compassion in practice in their local community.

The content is suitable for KS1 and KS2 pupils and there are a series of lesson plans linked to the assembly, which can be accessed by schools if they wish to explore the topic further with KS2 pupils.

There is an optional fundraising activity which schools can run alongside the programme.
