Adoption Questions

Rehoming Process – FAQs

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I HAVE SEEN AN ANIMAL I LIKE?

Once you have seen an animal that you are interested in, get in touch with the team as soon as possible. If the animal is available for adoption, you will be asked to complete an adoption application and send some photographs of your home. If you are a good match the team will be back in touch to begin the adoption process.

WE HAVE MET AN ANIMAL WE LIKE, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Once everyone who is going to live with the animal has met it, and you have decided that this is the animal for you, we will need to see the vaccination cards of any dogs and cats you currently own as we can only rehome animals to residences with fully vaccinated dogs and cats.

If you live in rented accommodation, we will need to see your tenancy agreement or a letter from your landlord giving permission to rehome the animal within 48 hours. The animal can then be reserved in your name.

I HAVE RESERVED AN ANIMAL, WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

Once you have reserved your animal, we will make arrangements for any vet treatments necessary prior to rehoming to be done. All cats from Ashford Cattery go home neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated.  The cost of this is included in your rehoming fee.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE REHOMING DAY?

We arrange with new owners for the animals to be adopted seven days a week.  You will be a given a time slot to collect your animal. We will go through vaccinations, vet records, feeding, microchipping and insurance details with you.
