Rehoming one of our animals means you’re getting more than just a friend for life, it's rewarding too.
If you are interested in adopting one of our cats then please complete an application form and email it to us at branch@rspca-ashforddistrict.org.uk along with some photographs of your home (kitchen, living room, garden etc).
If you have a rented property, we will also need to see permission from your landlord.
Once we have received the application form, our team will process it along with any others.
We don't work on a first come first serve basis for rehoming, but instead choose the most suitable home and person for the particular cat.
We get in touch with successful applicants within a week to arrange a visit to come and meet the cat and have a chat.

How to adopt
Adopting a cat or kitten from the Kent-Ashford, Tenterden & District Branch is not quite as easy as turn up, choose a pet and go home.
But don't let that put you off as its also a fairly straightforward procedure.
The cats in our care are very precious to us and we want to ensure that their new home and owners are suitable, so that they all have the best possible start.
With this policy in mind, there are just a few things that we need to check before rehoming a cat to you, (for example, anybody who wishes to adopt an animal will require a home visit before the animal can leave the centre.)
That said, adoption it is still a very efficient procedure and you can rest assured that all of our animals have the very best care from the moment they come in to our centre to the moment they go to their forever homes.
Here is a quick and simple guide to the adoption process:
1 : View available cats on our website or social media (facebook and instagram).
2 : Fill in an adoption form for a cat/s you are interested in.
Email this to info@rspca-ashforddistrict.org.uk
3 : We are currently doing "virtual home visits", so we will need photos of your living areas and garden emailed to us.
4 : If the "virtual home visit" is successful an appointment will be made for you to come and visit the cat/s.
5 : When it is time for to take your new family member home, all adoption paperwork will be completed first and a medical summary discussed with you.
Please bring ID with you on adoption day.
6 : All cats must be transported home in a suitable carrier.
Important note : All cats over 6 months of age leave here neutered, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated. Some young cats may leave the animal centre before they have been neutered so in this instance you will be advised on booking, and it will be paid for by the branch.
