Homes Needed
Sophie & Ruby
May we introduce ourselves? We are Sophie & Ruby. We were brought in here when our owner had to move. There were 4 of us all together, but we have been paired off. We were all indoor cats living in Folkestone. We might adjust to going outside in a garden, or we might not. We are both around 1 year of age, but we aren’t related. We would make a lovely pair of cats for a family as we lived with kids and a Staffy dog. We both have fluffy coats and will need the occasional groom which we enjoy. Even though we are very shy, once we get to know you, we are very affectionate and friendly. We might be double the trouble, but we would be twice the love! Purrs!!
Timber
Hello, I am the handsome Timber. I was found straying around the Towers View area in Kennington, so I can’t go back to that part of Ashford. Somebody rang up the RSPCA to say that I appeared to be having trouble eating. The nice RSPCA Inspector picked me up and took me to the vet. Sure enough, I had some major teeth problems. And, I’m only young – just around 3 years of age. I should be used as an advert about the importance of vaccinating your pets. I have never been vaccinated and have had to pay the price of having 9 teeth pulled and I will always be a carrier of the calici virus. I will need to get my teeth checked every year at my vaccination booster to make sure that I don’t have any more flare-ups. I am a lovely young man that deserves a nice new home without very young kids. I am fine with other cats, but the other cats must be up-to-date with their vaccinations. Do you have my new forever home to give me the love I so deserve? Purrs!!
Beth
Hello, I am Beth. Recently, I had been living in Boxley, but before that I was in a caravan in Hastings. So, I don’t really want to go back to either of those areas. Someone reported my owner as I was nearly bald due to not being treated for fleas. The RSPCA came out and due to welfare reasons, I was taken away. My reaction to fleas was so bad and left untreated for so long that my lymph nodes were all swollen! Needless to say, I will definitely need to be kept up-to-date with proper flea treatment. I am very friendly, but I hate other cats, so I am not coping in this nice cattery too well. I also was living with lots of kids, so I would prefer a home without any young children. I am a middle-aged lady around 7-8 years of age. As you can see, I’ve had a bit of a rough life and I deserve a nice forever home. Because I don’t like other cats, I don’t show myself off very well in here. I need somebody to take a chance on me and let me show my true nice colours once settled in a fabulous new home. Do you have my nice, forever home where I will get the love I so deserve? Purrs!!
Astrid
Greetings, I am Astrid. I have a bit of a story. First, I was brought into the cattery back in 2008 with two other cats after our owner died and the man that came to clear the house callously dumped us at a local vet. We were all rehomed together, but I didn’t cope living in the multi-cat home and was brought back to the cattery. I also don’t like to go outside, so I needed an indoor home. I was rehomed by a lady that lived in a flat. She loved me for nearly 2 years and brought me back to the cattery because she said she couldn’t afford to keep me anymore. So, here I am, once again. I do need an indoor home. I am 6 years young and I love getting attention and cuddles. I love my belly being rubbed and will purr for England. Since I have been back in the cattery, I have had a dental and the vet gave my right eye a good look as it keeps watering. It is probably due to 2 reasons: I had a bad case of cat flu at some point in my life or I had a trauma to my eye. So, whoever picks me will have to occasionally wipe my eye with warm cotton wool. I would make a perfect retired person’s cat or somebody that works from home cat. I would keep you constant company. Do you have my new forever home? Purrs!!
Arlene
Hello, I am Arlene. I have a bit of a story. I was brought into the cattery as a stray, but with a strange story. Supposedly I had been hanging around for months in the Arlington Road area in South Ashford (I can’t go back there). Someone took me and kept me indoors but then said they couldn’t afford me once it was discovered I was limping. In the meantime, a neighbour called the RSPCA to come get me and before they could get there, another neighbour brought me here. There was a bit of confusion because the Inspector was trying to find me! So, here I am! When I was first brought in, they worked on my left hind leg as there appeared to be an abscess. It was decided to remove it and send it off for testing. It came back as a sarcoma, so my leg had to be amputated. Hopefully there will be no further problems as I have the all clear. I am a very quiet lady of around 5-6 years young. I really don’t have any interest to go outside, so I would make a nice indoor cat in a quiet home with no small kids. Do you have my new forever home where you can properly afford me for the rest of my life? Purrs!!
Sheryl
Greetings, I am the fabulous Sheryl. I was found limping and bleeding around Homewood School in Tenterden. A nice person took me into the vet and here I am, looking for a new home. Somebody must have owned me as I am unbelievably friendly. I love rolling over and getting my tummy stroked. I am recuperating from a fractured jaw and I had a very bad front leg. It wasn’t broken, but had nerve damage. We thought it might have to be amputated, but I have been treated like a princess here and I have had physio and Reiki and it is now nearly 100%! The vet thinks I am under 5 years of age. I don’t really like the other cats in here, so I would prefer a home on my own. I also would prefer a home with no young kids. Do you have my purrfect forever home? Purrs!!
Cleo
Hello, I am the lovely Cleo. I was living in Kennington in Ashford (so I can’t go back there) when my owner died. The family or neighbours didn’t know what to do with me, so they dumped me here at the cattery (they didn’t even know my name!). It was a bit of a shock, as I used to love sitting in the sun and I don’t get too much sun here. They are guessing me to be around 10 years young. I am very friendly, but I would prefer a life on my own with no other cats and preferably with no kids. I also have a slight health problem – I have the start of kidney disease. It is nothing to panic about, but I need to be on a special kidney diet for the rest of my life. That really doesn’t cost any more than buying regular food for me as that is all I need to eat. There are ways to save money on it by buying it online. Since nobody knows how long we will live on this earth, I need somebody that will love me for as long as my kidneys will let me love you back. I would be ever so grateful if you would pick me. Please speak to my lovely friends who have been taking care of me here in the cattery for more information. Do you have my purrfect forever retirement home? Purrs!!
Fern & Holly
Hello, we are Fern & Holly. We have had slightly traumatic short lives. We are very pretty sisters that were born in January 2009 in a yard in Sittingbourne. We were rescued when we were 13 weeks old and were put in a foster home. Holly (the one with less black on her face) is very friendly and outgoing, but Fern never seemed to recover from her traumatic childhood and is very, very nervous. She will let you stroke her, but she never relaxes and cowers. Any loud noise freaks her out, so we need a quieter home with kids over 10 years of age. Fern will eventually learn to trust you and should come around, but she needs a very patient owner that is willing to let her come out of her shell on her own terms. We will need to be kept indoors for longer than the 4-6 weeks that is recommended, but once our confidence has grown, we can then go outside. Do you have enough patience to work with us and be our forever home? Purrs!!
Ebony
Hello, I am Ebony. I was taken into the vets in Swanley by an RSPCA Inspector because I was found in very bad condition – my teeth were rotten, I was terribly skinny and I had a very bad case of cat flu. They did manage to find my old owner, but she signed me over as she had no money to fix me up (she shouldn’t of let me get in such bad condition in the first place!). Anyways, here I am, looking for a new forever home. I am ever so friendly – I love getting attention and affection. I will purr and dribble for England. I am also a very chatty lady of around 8-10 years young. I have had a dental to fix my teeth, but I do still get the sniffles and will probably be a flu cat for the rest of my life. All that means is that you have to live with me sneezing sometimes. Stress can bring it out, so we think I deserve more of a quiet home as an only cat. It has been discovered that I really don’t like dogs. I also need an indoor home as I don’t want to pass my flu on to other unvaccinated cats that are out there, and believe me, there are lots of them as people just don’t seem to keep up vaccinations on their pets. Do you have my forever home where I will keep you company and give you lots of love in return? Purrs!!
Foster cats: Honey & Iris
May we introduce ourselves? We are Iris & Honey. We were part of a cruelty case which has gone to court and the RSPCA won!! Yay!! Do you remember the lady that tried to suffocate two litters of collie puppies in suitcases? Well, would you believe that she also had 53 cats? There were 18 of us here at this cattery. She never gave us any love or attention, so we are very afraid of humans. We are normally all hiss and no bite. Update: we are now in a nice foster home with one of the cattery volunteers so that we can learn proper house sounds and smells. Our foster mum is gonna spend lots of time with us to see if we will come around and we are!! We are learning that being touched by humans isn’t a bad thing! We love to play. So, please still fall in love with us! We will have to be moved from our foster home into our new home as it would be too stressful to be taken back to the cattery. The people in the cattery could possibly even loan you a floor pen to keep us in at first as we adjust to our new home. With the right home with no young children and no dogs, we could eventually make lovely additions to your family. You will have to be very patient with us though – it will probably take us weeks to come around. And, we really must stay together. We are probably flu carriers as none of us were ever vaccinated (we are now). So, if you have any other cats in your home, they will have to be fully vaccinated. We deserve parents that will take care of us properly for the rest of our lives. Will you take us into your hearts? We so deserve a new start in life as we have had a terrible life so far!! Purrs!!

We really like getting attention, but we are quite scared of it at first. We will come up to you and we love to play. When we let you stroke us, we purr and purr and really enjoy it.
